Two lateral belt conveyors designed to back up the telescopic forks allow loads to move on board simultaneously. The fork set can take the load from the rack and then drop it into the unloading compartment without the PHOEBUS needing any further telescopic strokes.
The number of straps can be doubled, making it more flexible and versatile – it can also handle double loads on board. Therefore, it is possible to halve the working time by carrying two loads at the same time.
The same system could include chains instead of belts to handle much larger loads with the same benefits.
